Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is Niall Wynn, I am the 2017 Irish Barista Champion, Urnex ambassador and owner of Proper Order Coffee Co in Dublin.
What are you excited to do while you are in Seoul?:
I’m really looking forward to serving my coffee and seeing the city of Seoul
Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:
Irish Barista Championships 2014, 2016 and 2017. Placed 3rd, 2nd, and 1st, respectively.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?:
I’ve been working closely with Patrik from April Coffee Roasters on the Coffee but my wife has really pushed me to do better and better
How do you see the coffee industry changing in the future?:
I think we’re all going to get a whole lot better at communicating whether within the speciality industry or to consumers
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:
Dublin 🙂 I love it here 🙂
What are your interests outside of coffee?:
Outside of coffee I am really interested in seasonal food in Ireland, there’s now a huge food culture brewing in Ireland based around our native produce and I love trying as much of that as possible
